Dr. Olawumi Owolabi
Dr. Olawumi Owolabi obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Nigeria. Upon graduation, she joined UNICAL as a Graduate Assistant in 2010. In 2013, Olawumi graduated with an M.Sc degree in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
She joined Schlumberger Oilfield Services in 2014, where she worked as a Petroleum Systems Analyst in Aachen, Germany and also as a Geologist in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She has recently obtained her Ph.D. in Basin Analysis and Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Manchester.
During her time as a student, she benefitted from various national and international scholarships including the prestigious Education Trust Fund (ETF, now TETFUND) and Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) overseas scholarship. Olawumi is passionate about young women in STEM and is excited to mentor anyone who reaches out to the path of success.
